Harddrives, electromagnetic pickups, contact microphones, audio mixer, timers, computer, computer program, power supplies, cables, headphones lcd screen, inkjet print on A4 paper.

Using timers and a specially designed computer program, the installation of 7 functional harddrives perfoms everyday tasks as writing and transferring data, powering on and off etc. On top of the hardrives, contact microphones  and electromagnetic pickups are mounted. These picks up both the mechanical sound from the harddrives, aswell as inteferrences in the electromagnetic field, caused by the flow of electrical current. The signals from the pickups and microphones are sent through an audio mixer, from which a stereo signal is outputted through headphones.
